NOVEMBER/en Plein Aire

Aloha Artists! Aloha November!
There's a great schedule planned for Nov., & that includes the annual Thanksgiving Thursday Painting Session at downtown Hilo. Usually we paint somewhere close to the bottom of Haili St., situating ourselves along in the parking lot or something. Last year we painted on the sidewalks along front street. However this year we are stationing ourselves in front of One Gallery. The periwinkle exterior is screaming to be on canvas.. besides it's a very hip co-op artists gallery (if I do say so myself).. Downtown Hilo is really cool on Thanksgiving Day. Hilo's streets are relatively devoid of cars, and discerning artist's will enjoy scoping the streets, the buildings, sidewalks, shadows, trees and all with out all the distractions of everyday. Not your usual experience for sure. Come by for a bit & check it out, paint! Also up this November is the PAPOH annual paint out, which is being held on the other side of the island, Kona & Waikoloa. In anticipation of this event, Leslie has scheduled one of our sessions at Anaeho'omalu Bay (aka "A BAY") Waikoloa. The PAPOH painters will be there in full force, if you've never attended one of these events in the past years, you should make an effort to spin over at least for this Thursday session. It only takes 1 1/2 hr. to get there, not really THAT bad...... grab a friend & have a fun time.... c u there!

OCTOBER en Plein Aire

Aloha Artists, Aloha October!
I deeply apologize for posting so late! I've been down for the count! A bug took hold of me & would not let go, it infiltrated my lungs, & all of my breathing stuffs, it's been rough, but I'm fighting my way back to normalcy (whatever that is). Things are looking up.
It is good to breathe again, a luxury for sure. Great gratitude for the ability to breathe in the fabulous trades, yes! October is a special month, things are cooling down some, but we still have wonderful afternoons of butter warm sunshine....so so lucky. It is also a good time for travel, but here in the islands it's a gift everyday. Next month, mid November will bring artists from all over Hawaii Nei together in Kona for the fabulous PAPOH annual paint out. This will be a great opportunity to not only meet artists from all of the islands, but to make some real connections with the Kona and Kohala artists. Please go to www.papoh.com to find out more.. or just scroll down & read more tips in the OTHER MUSINGS section....
