With these long "summer" days upon us, I am so happy that tradewind showers are still passing through. Those soft trade rains really mellow things out here on the windward side. Lucky we live Hawaii. The added benefit of these lovely long days, is extended painting hours..

11-PEPE'EKEO POINT-Pepe'ekeo, From Hilo, Hamakua Hwy to Sugar Mill Rd. (lg. Cog marks the entrance) Follow road down to the bottom to the right is the site of the old mill. Trails, old mill structures, ocean cliffs, dusty old roads. No facilities, no water.
18-PUKIHAE GARDENS-Wainaku, 289 Wainaku Rd, Private property. Water, no facilities.
25-"BABY BEACH"- Keaukaha, Just off of Lihikai street, mellow, private & dramatic.

SCHAEFER PORTRAIT CHALLENGE 2012 - The Maui Arts & Cultural Center- Schaefer Portrait Challenge 2012. Statewide juried competition. Opening on Maui, January 8, 2012. Held every other year since 2002, S.P.C. encourages Hawai‘i’s artists in portraiture within 2- and 3-dimensional work.
